# Fieldnotes motion reference

Start with `GUIDE.md` beside this skill, or the public agent guide at
https://openai-film-fieldnotes-100.pages.dev/videos/editing/benchmark/library/agent-guide/.
Its `index.json` points to the live catalog, runnable downloads and status.

Translate the brief into motion/editing intent, retrieve a small matching subset,
and identify the exact recipe, OpenAI film and inspected native-frame interval.
Inspect moving source and concrete findings before choosing. If the user names
a specific reference, preserve that choice rather than substituting a loosely
similar treatment.

Check actual copy metrics, assets, aspect/cadence and entry/exit constraints.
Download the selected original-asset packs with `get-toolkit.py`, then use the
packaged `AGENT_GUIDE.md` and `catalog show RECIPE_ID --contract`. Builder design
inputs and direct renderer Content are different APIs. Use the declared one;
do not edit shared components or frame tracks to force unsupported content in.

Render the user's content, retain its provenance manifest, and verify both the
bytes/bindings and the visible motion. Check shot joins for multi-shot edits.
The treatment must remain editable code plus original/permitted media, not a
reference clip or flattened prerender disguised as an input. Identify code-built
elements versus input media; retain any supplied asset-generation code/inputs.
Judge quality against the moving source, not merely the successful render.
Report source mappings, editable inputs, adaptation choices and concrete limits.
Reject unsupported substitutions instead of silently shrinking, cropping,
slowing or simplifying. A source comparison is research, not an asset pack.

Original and Adaptation are both Remotion outputs; Adaptation is reuse evidence,
not another distinct motion. Published drafts and mechanical passes are not
completed fidelity-approved examples. Never waive open source findings or claim
real product behavior from an illustrated specimen. This skill does not itself
authorize publication or production of an all-hands presentation.
